Role Overview
We are seeking highly motivated students or recent graduates (Freshers Only) for a Backend Developer Internship specializing in Django.
This role offers hands-on exposure to backend architecture, RESTful API development, database design, and scalable system engineering. Interns will work closely with senior engineers and product teams to build and maintain critical backend services.
This is a structured 5-month internship program designed for individuals serious about backend engineering careers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend services using Python and Django
- Design and implement RESTful APIs using Django REST Framework (DRF)
- Build admin and internal management services
- Work with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Optimize queries and improve backend performance
- Implement authentication, authorization, and role-based access control
- Collaborate with frontend teams for seamless API integration
- Write clean, maintainable, and production-ready code
- Participate in code reviews and follow engineering best practices
- Contribute to scalable and modular backend architecture
Required Qualifications
- Students (any year) or recent graduates (Freshers Only)
- Strong fundamentals in Python programming
- Hands-on experience with Django framework
- Basic understanding of Django REST Framework (DRF)
- Understanding of relational databases and SQL concepts
- Familiarity with API development and client-server architecture
- Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn
Preferred (Good-to-Have) Skills
- Understanding of REST API design standards
- Knowledge of authentication mechanisms (JWT, OAuth basics)
- Experience with Git and collaborative version control workflows
- Basic knowledge of Docker, Redis, or Celery
- Understanding of system design fundamentals
